The Mighty Oaks have been using their language skills to problem solve, ask questions to further their knowledge, and express concerns, especially about their friends.<\/p>\n
Out on the yard, Maeve was playing with blocks, when a fly ball came down and bumped her on the head. She was engaged in her play, and it did not interrupt her. Alex, who was sitting across from her saw what happened, and stood up and walked over to check in on her. “Are you okay?” She nodded.<\/p>\n
Ezaad noticed Ohana quietly reading, looking a little sad after drop off. “What happened, Ohana?” he asked. “I’m reading a book because I’m sad my daddy had to go to work.”<\/p>\n
Xavier was playing with trains and a friend came over and took one of his trains away. He began to cry, and Noah offered him one of his own trains, and Xavier accepted it and moved forward with his play.<\/p>\n
We encourage the children to check up on their friends after an accident or incident. Often times, we can step back and the children will give each other reminders, or go over and help a friend in need without adult prompting.
